The institution of Atelier Austmarka offers studio residencies in the scenic village of Austmarka, Finnskogen, in Southeast Norway, near Sweden. This remote space offers a peaceful environment surrounded by lush nature, wildlife, forestland and lakes. We welcome all creative individuals to practice in a variety of disciplines and enjoy creative research and art projects.
At this URL, there will soon be a digital gallery where artists can apply for exhibition space, showcasing their artworks and gaining international visibility. We hope that the website will be fully developed and ready for use by August 2024. This digital gallery aims to serve as a platform for artists worldwide to share their creative visions and reach a broader audience. We look forward to welcoming artists to explore and showcase their art in this exciting new digital space.

Since 1987, Hordaland Kunstsenter has hosted an artist in residence programme, offering an apartment and a work space for the residents.
The residency is self-catered (artists have to cover all expenses, such as living costs, travel, materials, insurance and transport must be covered by the artist themselves). We encourage all applicants to apply for funding in their home countries.
North Norwegian Art Centre is Northern Norway’s regional center for contemporary art. Our aim is to create interest for art and arts and crafts in the region through a regional and international orientation.
This AiR program focuses on interdisciplinary projects within dance, music, performing arts, film, literature (working with non-fiction literature projects) and curators. We are open for applications from professional artists that already work with interdisciplinary projects or would like to challenge their own practice.
The residence aims at all kinds of artists: painters, sculptors, handicraftsmen, musicians, authors and cultural workers. It is compulsory to belong to a Union, for instance Norske Billedkunstnere, Forfatterforeningen etc, or unions of the same kind abroad, or you must document sufficient professional skill.
We offer excellent accommodation and working conditions. The centre offers five private residency houses, one for each artist. Five 50 m² studios with a 6 meter high ceiling and a north faced panorama window wall.
The residency at Wergelandshaugen provides artists with an opportunity to further develop and research their own artistic practice. Through discussions, practical work, and presentations with fellow artists and across different art forms, an environment for knowledge sharing and growth is fostered.

PRAKSIS residencies bring diverse practitioners together to work on themes and questions of mutual interest. Residents become part of a mixed, temporary community: working, conversing, socialising and learning in a research-intensive, supportive, high-energy atmosphere.
All Norwegian and international artists and groups with a project they wish to work on are welcome to apply. The artist residency includes accommodation and a studio/exhibition space. The residency concludes with a public exhibition/performance/discussion/workshop based on the artist’s terms.
A meeting place for artistic interactivity to stimulate artists from all artistic disciplines to live, work and collaborate.
